There were tears, there was joy there was love. A unique, beautiful wedding ceremony shared by two beautiful people. Colby and Carson’s Oregon Wedding was one no one will forget. You have to see his reaction as she recorded herself singing as she came down the aisle. They had everyone in tears.
It was love at first sight. Whiney and Cody’s love story told in photographs. From where they first met, a sweet birthday date at the Majestic Theater and new love blossoming into spring at the Dallas Arboretum. This couple’s Dallas Engagement Session was more like the beginning of a fairy tale. My sister’s ENGAGED Y’ALL!!!
Spring is here! and We are offering our mini sessions again this year! We love being able to serve our families each year with mini sessions! Read more about what our little sessions are all about. Can’t wait to capture these little moments with you this Spring!
A Fall Engagement Session at The Baumberhof
The temperature was dropping by the minute at Sara and John’s engagement session and the wind blew her long skirt around in true Oklahoma fashion. But that didn’t stop us from capturing some amazing photos! The love and warmth in these pictures make you feel as if it were a 60-degree day. Sara even told me she got a long skirt so that it would blow in the wind! I loved that she planned for a true Oklahoma day with wind!
These two were too much fun, teasing and laughing though the whole session. It was contagious! I can only imagine how much fun they will be on their wedding day. You can really tell how in love with each other they are and how much John adores Sara in these images. I hope when he sees these photos of her he is blown away (pun intended).
I cannot wait to capture more of their love story next fall!!
the way the wind blew her skirt is something of movies and fairy tales!!
Beautiful Autumn Wedding in Springfield Missouri
Last Saturday was a beautiful 60 something degrees in Springfield, Missouri, and pretty much the most perfect weather anyone could ask for. Rachel and her girls got ready at an adorable Airbnb on Commercial Street, while Drew and the guys were at the brewery just down the road.
Will and I woke up early Saturday morning, grabbed some pre-wedding coffee at the coffee shop below our hotel room and chatted about things that we wanted to make sure and capture for Rachel + Drew’s big day.
Rachel and I have known each other since high school where we played volleyball and basketball together. We were both total goofs back then. (I have the throwback photos to prove it.)
When she asked me to do her wedding and engagements I was over the moon excited to be a part of capturing her wedding day. Her and Drew’s engagements were so fun and adventurous. I knew her wedding day would be the same. Rachel let me know of the things most important to capture, namely her brothers, Drew’s family, and the people that they are closest to. The bond that these two share with their family was beautiful to witness.
From the first look with Dad to the very end of the day there were more laughter and tears than I could count. You could tell how much love surrounded this couple.
Rachel was glowing! Her wedding was full of light, laughter, and dreamy candlelight. Her fall wedding was accented with Duke blue, white ranunculus, peonies, and hints of wedding sparkle.

High School Sweethearts say “I Do”
WOW! I don’t even know where to begin on this wedding. Details everywhere, love, laughter, tears, amazing family and friends, and vendors all to make Megan and Caleb’s day perfect. Let’s not forget an epic flower confetti toss and the rain that started just as they drove off in the jeep!
William and I drove in from Oklahoma to capture Megan and Caleb’s day and we were so glad they asked us to capture it.
Once in Rolla, the clouds showed a threat of rain last Saturday as we pulled up to the church. Not too surprising for a fall day in Missouri. We love how the clouds give everything a beautiful pop of color and it didn’t keep us from being able to capture their day, in fact it just stopped raining for us during portraits and everything was beautiful. God even sent a rainbow!
Megan and I had been chatting about details from the beginning and she had so many ready for me when I arrived! I was able to quickly gather them up before joining Megan as she got her hair finished.
I loved the colors she chose for her wedding. They went perfect with this autumn season and her personal style. From little white pumpkins and candles on the tables at the reception, to a gorgeous splash of burgundy mixed in with hints of gold, and the guys all dressed up in a perfect shade of navy! You could tell Megan had been planning her day for a long time.
Caleb and Megan were high school sweethearts! Their story goes way back, yet it’s just beginning. I loved photographing their day, knowing their story and seeing the love they had for each other. You could see the joy they shared to be getting married surrounded by family and friends who watched them grow-up and grow more and more in love.
Megan’s sister helped her get into her off-the-shoulder, lace sleeved gown. They were crying, she was crying, I was trying not to cry! It was emotional to watch her put on her grandmother’s pearls. These are the special moments that I love to capture.
Megan and Caleb were so easy going, full of joy and excitement for their day. Just the kind of couple I love to photograph! You could tell how honest their love was and what this day meant to them. It was such an honor to be a part of it.
Thank you both for asking me to come home to Missouri and capture this day with the two of you. I hope you treasure that day and these photographs as a reminder of how in love and loved you both are!
A sweet fall wedding at the
I received a call from Kali about a month before her wedding day. We met at Cuppies and went over her plans and what she was hoping to capture on her wedding day. I was so happy she contacted me. Kali is a good friend of my sister-in-law’s and I was so honored to capture her day and be a part of these “I DO’s.”
She told me upfront that it was going to be a bit un-traditional with pizza, doughnuts and just a lot of fun. I was hooked!
Kali looked absolutely amazing in her blush dress with beautiful flowers she arranged herself! When we arrived at the venue there were friends and family members who were quickly setting up the conservatory for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception area! It was really neat to see everyone pulling together to set everything up and make the couple’s wedding day dreams come true.
I love the bright airy feel of the venue space! The light came in from all sides and illuminated the ceremony. It was breathtaking. By the time the ceremony began, the sun had slightly gone down and it was the perfect setting for the ceremony.
Kali and Jesse fed each other doughnuts and celebrated with their friends over pizza and wine. Everyone loved the laid back atmosphere the couple provided. Their day was so fun and we’re so thankful for families that make us feel like a part of their world and welcome us with open arms!
Enjoy my favorite images from their gorgeous day! Thank you to all who helped make Kali and Jesse’s day a success!
As a photographer, I'm in love with light; but it's not just the light, it's the stories that it can tell and the life that it lifts out of us. Each person has a unique and beautiful story. I have the passion and privilege to tell your love story and capture that perfect light. You will remember not only the moments, but the emotions, smiles, and love you were surrounded with on your wedding day.
I chose Komorebi Photography (KO-MO-Reh-Bee), as our business name not only because it was unique, but because of the love story behind it. My husband and I fell in love while studying abroad in Japan. I found the word when I returned home with a passion for capturing moments and telling love stories. The name not only fit us as a husband and wife team who fell in love in Japan, but we really felt the meaning connected us with how we want to tell your story. As Christians, God also calls us to be a light in this dark world. We not only want our business to represent love but also the faith we share.
If any of this resonates with you we'd love to get to know you better as we might be the perfect fit for your day!
Thank you for considering me to timelessly capture you and your life's big moments. I would love to meet with you and learn more about your love story!! Please fill out our contact form and let’s get to know each other better!
